Jon L. Duman
represents the second generation of the Duman family to practice law in
the San Francisco Bay Area. Mr. Duman's practice encompasses over
twelve years of general business, media, and entertainment law
experience, with particular emphasis on music business and intellectual
property-related matters.
Jon Duman was born and raised in the
East Bay Area and received his undergraduate degree from the University
of California at Davis. Mr. Duman received his Juris Doctor
degree in 1992 from Santa Clara University's School of Law.
Mr. Duman is a member of the State Bar
of California's Business and Intellectual Property Law Sections, in
addition to the American Bar Association's Entertainment and Sports Law
Forum. Mr. Duman is also a long-time panel attorney for the California
Lawyers for the Arts (CLA), a non-profit organization providing various
resources to local entertainment and media professionals.
Jon
Duman volunteers much of his time
working with the C.L.A., and other groups such as The Small Business
Administration (SBA), the Professional and Technical Consultants
Association (PATCA), The West Coast Song-Writers Association,
and the City of Berkeley Public Library, by regularly participating in
business seminars, legal workshops, and one-on-one counseling for
individuals and businesses. In addition to frequently lecturing
on
a wide range of entertainment and intellectual property law-related
topics, on
behalf of such groups as the CLA, the SBA and the University of San
Francisco School of Law, Mr. Duman also teaches a course on "Legal
Aspects of the Music Industry" at the Globe Recording Institute in San
Francisco.
